The EHL Team had a big home and home series last week with the division leading New Jersey Bears, while the Premier Team was on the road against the Union Jr. Thunder.
Wednesday vs Bears
It was a perfect start for the Huntsmen as Enzo Giuliani scored :56 into the game for the 1-0 lead. In the 2nd period, Giuliani out did himself. He was hooked in front of the net and was given a penalty shot. Giuliani scored the penalty shot :54 into the period. Not long after that goal, the Bears scored on the power play to make it 2-1. Late in the 2nd, Arendes was able to outrace the New Jersey defense to a loose puck in the neutral zone, and on the breakaway extended the lead 3-1. Unfortunately for the Huntsmen, the 3rd period didn't go as planned. The Bears scored three goals to take a 4-3 lead. The Huntsmen pulled (G) Illus for the extra attacker but New Jersey scored an empty net goal to win the game 5-3.
Friday at Bears
The Bears got off to a hot start with two goals in the 1st period. New Jersey kept rolling, and 8 minutes into the 2nd they were up 4-0. Damon Warren stopped the bleeding with his 6th goal of the year to make it 4-1. The Bears answered back a few minutes later, taking a 5-1 lead at the end of two periods. Warren was given a penalty shot in the 3rd and he scored but it was not nearly enough as the Huntsmen lost 6-2 and were swept by the Bears.
Premier at Thunder
James Mirigliano scored 5 minutes into the game for the Huntsmen, and it was 1-0. The Thunder responded with two goals to take the lead. It only took :35 for the Huntsmen to respond as Kozlowski had a nice setup for Mirigliano’s second goal of the game and it was tied 2-2. PA scored the only goal in the 2nd as Kozlowski sent the puck to the point, and Troyano sent the shot on goal. The save was made but Mirigliano was there for the rebound and the hat trick and the Huntsmen were up 3-2. Less than eight minutes into the 3rd, Union would score tying the game 3-3. In the final moments of the game Kozlowski scored and the Huntsmen were victorious 4-3.
