The Pennsylvania Huntsmen are excited to announce Rick Walsh as their new U18 Head Coach and Director for the 2024-25 season.

Walsh is local to the area calling Aston, PA home. Walsh played his youth career at the Ice Works and suited up for the Philadelphia Little Flyers in his two years of juniors. After his Eastern Hockey League (EHL) days were over he played NCAA Division III at Framingham State University for four years.

Walsh has some coaching experience as he joins the Huntsmen. He’s coached the Little Flyers girls program and spent a year with Pat Driscoll coaching Austin Preparatory School. Walsh attributes his love for coaching to his former coaches when he was with the Little Flyers, Rocky Russo (USHL) and George Lewis (NCAA DI). “I’m happy to be close to home and really help kids develop and move on to whatever their goals are, I'm excited to get started and see what this program can do,” said Walsh.

General Manager Zach Overholtzer is looking forward to seeing Walsh behind the bench for the Huntsmen. “We were looking for someone that had junior and NCAA experience that could prepare our U18 players for the next level,” says Overholtzer. “Rick checked all the boxes and had previous coaching experience in the prep school world. He is very organized and detail oriented. Each player will get the individual focus they need to prep them for their junior and college careers. We are excited to bring a coach with a wealth of knowledge and experience.”

Welcome Coach Walsh!
